New Bombay (The Columns)

My Indian team mate Anoo loves to dine out in this restaurant in The Columns just across RCBC and GT Tower. New Bombay is Indian-owned Indian cuisine. According to her food here is good but is so "mahal". The original branch in Salcedo offers the same food at a cheaper price. We ordered six dishes and I cannot remember most of them. The rice dish is called Shrimp Biryani -- was very spicy even if we requested for less spice. I tried stuffing it in Butter Naan and guess what I produced a Mexican dish called burritos! The two other food that looked like curry I do not know what they're called but one is chicken the other is cottage cheese. The cottage cheese was delicious even though at first I thought it was gluten/tofu.  The stuffed potato Samosa comes with two dips the spicy green (tastes like mashed leaves), and the other brown one which was sweet. The potato samosa was a classic even if it was cheap. Overall Indian food has an interesting taste (spice, herbs, cream/yogurt) and is very different from other dishes I've tried.

 

 

Gulabjamun - Indian dessert. Eaten after a meal. Gulabjamun is fried milk and flour balls soaked in rose-flavored sugar syrup. Tastes like custard with a croquet-like texture.
